People often use humor as a way of dealing with having an artificial eye. This was especially true in the past when glass eyes were clearly so different.

I have just come across a beautiful story told in an animation on You Tube that demonstrates this very well.

The short clip is the story of a little boy and his uncle Johnny’s glass eye. It is a delightful true tale of an uncle’s humor and a brave little boy who shows his uncle’s eye an early peek at the Christmas presents.

The story is written by Doug Adamz and performed by Dr Elmo. If you haven’t smiled today I recommend you take a few minutes to check out Uncle Johnny’s Glass Eye.
